Tennessee Cherohala-Fontana Bike Tour

With scenic vistas every bit as impressive as the Blue Ridge Parkway but with only a fraction of the traffic, the Cherohala Skyway is an amazing ride, taking cyclists from the Cherokee National Forest in Tennessee into the Nantahala National Forest in North Carolina. It’s also a challenging ride, with several thousand feet of climbing to get up and over the ridge. With this Tennessee (and North Carolina) bike tour, we’re offering cyclists the opportunity to ride the Cherohala Skyway with full SAG support, which not only provides peace of mind on a 50-mile ride with no services, but it also provides the unique opportunity to customize how you enjoy the ride. (Catching a lift to the top and enjoying 20 miles of downhill is perfectly acceptable!)

More than just providing support and flexibility for riding the Skyway (in both directions!), this bike tour also includes fantastic accommodations at the Historic Tapoco Lodge, a field trip to Fontana Lake, and an extra ride showcasing the beautiful countryside between Santeetlah and Fontana Lakes.
